  • Rediscover Chihuly Glass

After stepping aside for a brief hiatus so the Oklahoma City Museum of Art could host the world famous Passages Exhibit, the museum's Chihuly glass is back and more captivating than ever. Not sure what Chihuly glass is? All you have to do is walk by the outside of the museum and you'll see it in all of its splendor in the form of the Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick Memorial Tower. ILLUMINATIONS: Rediscovering the Art of Dale Chihuly offers something new and unforgettable for those who have visited the prior exhibit or those discovering this impressive collection for the first time.

The exhibit, which features the most comprehensive collection of Dale Chihuly glass in the world, was redesigned in collaboration with Chihuly Studios and incorporates a three-dimensional approach to viewing this fantastic collection. As part of the reopened exhibit, the museum will also feature Chihuly: Northwest, a breathtaking exhibit of glass sculptures by Chihuly inspired by Native American baskets. Chihuly: Northwest will run through April 8, 2012.

Whether you have visited before or have never heard of Chihuly there has never been a better time to experience this one-of-a-kind collection. The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday.

  • Get Smart and Help

Are you a bookworm? Or are you on the hunt for some books to fill up that new bookshelf? Don't miss the annual OKC Library Book Sale, Friday Feb. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 26. Started in 1981, this book sale is put on by the Friends of the Library at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Not only can you find some great deals but the proceeds go back to the Library System to help with programs and services not covered in their budget.

With more than 600,000 books, magazines and videos this event is one of the largest book sales in the nation. Last year $155,242 was raised and approximately $2.9 million has been granted back to the library due to this event. The Friday sale is a special members-only event and will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Not a member? You can join here! On Saturday and Sunday the sale is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There's no cost to attend so bring a friend, buy some books and help a great cause.

  • Celebrity Spotting in OKC

Hey, we may never be confused with L.A. or New York but that doesn't mean you can't catch a glimpse of some of your favorite celebrities in OKC every now and again. Heck, some even call Oklahoma City home.

You're not a true Oklahoma Citian until you've crossed paths with Grammy Award-winning front man of the Flaming Lips, Wayne Coyne. And since we want you to feel right at home, we'll let you in on where you're likely to see him. The psychedelic rocker is frequently spotted getting his coffee fix over on Automobile Alley and he's often spotted cruising the Plaza District. If you hang around some of the local hardware stores long enough, you're bound to run into Coyne buying various supplies for many of the homemade contraptions he uses to wow his concert goers.

The historic Skirvin Hotel is also a good bet for an evening of celebrity sightseeing. Whether it is an international rock star or visiting NBA team, the Skirvin and its Red Piano Lounge are a hotspot for visiting celebs looking to unwind.

Speaking of the NBA, if you were to head to Bricktown and stop in Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse after a Thunder game there is a good chance you might run into Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the squad enjoying a post-victory dinner.

While you're in Bricktown, keep your eyes open because not long ago Sir Paul McCartney was seen enjoying a nice meal at Nonna's as he and his now wife drove through America on Route 66. We're certain he has told his other famous friends about the fabulous food and wonderful hospitality he experienced on his stop through town.

And since celebrities like to get a taste of Oklahoma City's western heritage, a good bet is to visit local hotspots like Cattleman's Steakhouse, an Oklahoma City institution. You never know when you might bump into your favorite athlete, rocker, movie star or president.

  • World’s Largest Milk Bottle

If you are new to OKC you might have noticed the giant Milk Bottle as you cruised down Classen Avenue. Unofficially (who really keeps records like this?) we call it the World's Largest Milk Bottle. Located at 2426 N. Classen, this landmark was built in 1930 and measures 20 feet tall. Originally the building was known as "Triangle Grocery and Market", the name of the building was changed to "Milk Bottle Grocery" shortly after a large metal milk bottle sign was added to the roof in 1948. It is listed on the National Register of Historic places and even sits on an old alignment of historic Route 66.

Over the years, the sign has advertised different dairy producers, and nowadays carries the Braum's emblem. The store under the bottle has housed everything from a liquor store to a real estate office. The current tenant is a Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich shop and a must-visit when you head over to Oklahoma City's booming Asian District.
