Resident Spotlight
When did you move to and/or back to Oklahoma City? Where did you come from?
I moved to Oklahoma City in November of 2018 from San Francisco, California. I’ve been a native Northern California resident all my life before moving here.
What has been the biggest surprise about OKC to you?
The food scene has been the biggest surprise for me in OKC, especially coming from San Francisco. There are incredible restaurants opening all the time and each one maintains their own unique flare while incorporating classic Oklahoma charm. I haven’t had a bad meal yet.
What is your favorite thing about living in OKC?
It’s hard to pick one thing so I will say it is a tie between a few: the food, the people and the ease of travel. You can always find a great spot to grab a bite or beverage; you’ll always be greeted throughout town; and you can easily walk or drive to all sorts of spots. All of those great options make it easy to have an evening adventure or explore all weekend.
What would you say to someone thinking about moving to OKC?
Don’t think, just move! This was a leap of faith for me, and I can’t imagine a better life for myself here in Oklahoma City. When you move, be sure to get involved, explore and don’t be afraid to try new things. In Oklahoma City, you can have the perks of city living, with the flexibility of urban life.
