Will Rogers International Airport to offer nonstop flights to Cancun this winter
Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers International Airport (WRIA) announced nonstop service to Cancún, Mexico, offered by American Airlines beginning Nov. 8, 2025.
“To finally welcome a nonstop international flight to Oklahoma City for the first time in a generation is a historic moment for us,” Mayor David Holt said. “This milestone is a testament to our city’s renaissance, as well as a reflection of our willingness to invest in ourselves. This would not have been possible without the vision of our airport leadership to construct the necessary facilities and their persistence in marketing this opportunity to the carriers. Our gratitude to them, as well as American Airlines.”
Flights to Cancún will operate every Saturday from Nov. 8, 2025, through April 4, 2026. American Airlines is adding this service for leisure travelers looking to enjoy a beachside vacation during the holidays and winter months.
“We are excited American Airlines will be offering international flights to Cancún this winter,” Airports Director Jeff Mulder said. “American Airlines is a great partner, and we appreciate their support of OKC and our community. We are nearing completion of our customs facility, which will allow this new international service to become a reality. This type of new international nonstop service elevates OKC to a new level and offers our travelers another quality-of-life improvement.”
Philippe Puech, American’s director of internation network planning, echoed this excitement, stating the airline is proud to announce international service from WRIA.
“With service to customer-favorite Cancún, Mexico, joining nonstop flights to eight destinations across the United States, American offers a comprehensive network that can take Oklahomans anywhere they wish to travel,” Puech said.
