Lyric Theatre programs variety with its 2020 season
From a world-premiere musical about the modern Native American experience and a heartfelt two-woman show about African American history to the high-heeled hilarity of "Kinky Boots" and the family-friendly magic of Roald Dahl's "Matilda," Lyric Theatre is entering its seventh decade with a diverse slate.
"We sell more and more tickets every year," Lyric's Producing Artistic Director Michael Baron said. "We find that people are seeking out ... live theater more than ever before, which is encouraging."
The professional nonprofit theater also will "Grease" the gears of its 2020 season with a tuneful theater and movie classic, reimagine a raucous royal romp set to the songs of The Go-Go’s and offer add-on shows penned by Dr. Seuss and Charles Dickens.
