What has been the biggest surprise about OKC to you?
I am originally from Duncan, Oklahoma. Growing up I remember OKC, but I can’t remember anything special about OKC from an entertainment standpoint. It’s amazing to see how OKC has come along since then! I’m someone who loves the arts and sports for my entertainment options. In the OKC of today I’m able to attend world-class philharmonic and Broadway performances, as well as professional basketball, soccer and the best college football you can find, all within an hour of my home.
What is your favorite thing about living in OKC?
It is hard to pick just one favorite thing about OKC, but if I have to it would be the community spirit. Okies are, by nature, friendly and caring folks, so living in this city you integrate quickly and no matter what your interests are you can find and satisfy them in this rapidly growing “small” city.
What would you say to someone thinking about moving to OKC?
I’d say do it!! And welcome!! They don’t call us the big friendly for nothing. We have many of the same cultural attractions as much larger cities, with almost zero traffic. You also won’t find many places with the same affordability, which leads to a higher quality of living.
