When did you move to and/or back to Oklahoma City? Where did you come from?
I grew up in Texas but have family in Oklahoma; therefore, I spent tons of time here as a child. I attended the University of Oklahoma for undergrad and law school. Upon graduation, I moved to Houston where I worked for several years and met my husband. My husband and I moved to Oklahoma in April 2014.
Employer and/or occupation/title
I work for Chesapeake Energy. I am currently the land manager for the Brazos Valley, which is a Texas asset we recently acquired. Chesapeake is a fabulous place to work!

What has been the biggest surprise about OKC to you?
Having been gone for several years living in Houston, there were several big (and pleasant) surprises. The first being how much the city had grown. The restaurants, cultural events, neighborhoods and improvements that had been made to the city blew our minds. Also, the community feel is so real. We love that people are so welcoming and really involved in the community through charitable causes, family events, and supporting local businesses. My husband is from Austin originally. He often mentions that OKC feels so much like an early Austin, which is authentic and fun.
What is your favorite thing about living in OKC?
There are too many things my husband and I love to just pick one. A few of our favorite things include: the kindness of the people in OKC, the low cost of living, the lack of traffic (if you have ever lived in a big city you know what I mean by traffic), the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, close proximity to many beautiful lakes, and Thunder basketball.
What would you say to someone thinking about moving to OKC?
DO IT! You will love it. We have such a wonderful quality of life. It is so affordable to live in OKC. It is a place where you truly can have it all and make it all work. There are great places to live and work. Additionally, there are loads of cool things to do here in OKC. We're looking forward to the new Scissortail Park. But there are so many things to do already, such as perusing art in the Paseo, seeing a show at the Oklahoma City Civic Center, taking your kids to the zoo, and attending a baseball game in Bricktown.
