Greater Grads is Great for Both Grads and OKC

Greater Grads is the Chamber’s program to help build the talent base in Oklahoma City – that’s you – and to connect that base with OKC’s employers. There are two main areas of the Greater Grads program you should know about. The first is our Greater Grads Career Fair. If you’re a new graduate, you should be at the Cox Convention Center on Thursday, March 5, from noon to 4 p.m. suited and booted with that resume ready to roll. Last year more almost 100 Oklahoma employers connected with more than 650 students, and this year’s fair promises to be even better. Free parking and shuttles are available at the Chevy Bricktown Events Center. To find out more, including a list of exhibiting employers, and/or to register, just hop on over to greatergrads.com.

The second cool thing you should know about in the Greater Grads universe is the InternOKC Internship Program. Every summer, more than 400 OKC-area interns participate in this five-week program that gives participants a chance to connect with their peers while getting a unique, in-depth look at all the reasons to stay, work and play in Oklahoma City post-graduation. To find out more info, get your interns enrolled in the program, or do a little more digging, head over to greatergrads.com or contact:

125k to Stay

With 125,000 college students in Greater Oklahoma City, we at the Chamber understand that keeping those educated, talented folks in the fold after graduation is important. That’s why we launched the Greater Grads program in 2006.

There are two main components to the Greater Grads program – a career fair featuring Oklahoma employers (held this year on March 15, 2015) and the InternOKC Internship Program, a five-week series of lunches where interns get to know their future peers and discover why Oklahoma City is the perfect place to live, work and play.

Both programs are great ways for students and employers alike to network, make valuable business connections, and help contribute to the entire community’s future success.

Greater Grads is an initiative of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s Education and Workforce Development division. Greater Grads works to build Oklahoma City’s talent base by connecting Oklahoma graduates – a vital component of the City’s future workforce – with employers in the Oklahoma City region. These connections will help Oklahoma City’s flourishing economy, creating even more opportunities in the years to come.

To learn more, check out www.greatergrads.com or contact Elisa Milbourn at 405-297-8951 or emilbourn@okcchamber.com.
