Whether you’re looking for a lively night out, a relaxing morning in the gardens or a full day exploring downtown, this week’s lineup offers plenty of ways to enjoy the change in season.
Spring color takes center stage as the Myriad Botanical Gardens hosts its expanded Tulip Festival, now spanning two full weekends of activities. More than 100,000 tulips have been planted across the Gardens and nearby Scissortail Park, creating vibrant photo opportunities and a festive atmosphere that celebrates the arrival of warmer weather.
Weekend visitors can enjoy live music, local vendors and food trucks, while weekday guests can take advantage of quieter tulip viewing, themed exhibits and outdoor lunch opportunities surrounded by blooms. The festival runs through April 5, with many activities free to attend.
Wheeler Ferris Wheel Opening Day
The Wheeler Ferris Wheel begins its tenth season on March 28 with a full day of food trucks, live music and family-friendly fun along the Oklahoma River. The Opening Day celebration offers a relaxed, come-and-go environment where visitors can meet friends, explore the Wheeler District and take in skyline views from one of the city’s most recognizable attractions.
Giveaways for early guests and a ticket scavenger hunt featuring prizes from local entertainment venues add to the excitement. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is free to attend.
For a slower-paced outing, the Myriad Botanical Gardens will host its monthly guided walking tour on the last Saturday of the month. Led by horticultural staff, the educational experience highlights native Oklahoma plants, seasonal blooms and practical inspiration for home gardens.
The tour takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. and welcomes children and leashed dogs, making it an easy way to enjoy fresh air and learn something new in the heart of downtown.
