If this is your first holiday season in Oklahoma City, there’s no better way to kick things off than with the OKC Tree Lighting Festival in Bricktown. Every year, locals gather downtown for one of the city’s most beloved traditions—the perfect introduction to how OKC celebrates.
The 24th annual festival, presented by Global Payments, takes place Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 2 S. Mickey Mantle Drive, just outside the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The event is free and open to everyone, filled with live entertainment, festive treats and family-friendly fun.
You can expect photos with Santa, a Letters to Santa station, ornament-making, a life-size snow globe and performances from the OKC ThunderBolt and local entertainers. There’s also plenty to snack on—Bricktown Brewery, McNellie’s, The Melting Pot, Tiff’s Treats and others will serve free samples and seasonal bites.
Grab a cup of hot chocolate from Junction Coffee and find your spot near the stage. At 6 p.m., Mayor David Holt will lead the countdown to light the Bricktown Christmas Tree Powered by OG&E, officially launching Downtown in December. Stick around for more performances from OKC Ballet, RACE Dance Collective, Lyric Academy students, Jabee and others.
Parking is easy with free spaces in the Compress Lot (101 SE 2nd St.), and you can ride the OKC Streetcar for free with a same-day parking receipt.
Whether you’re new to OKC or just ready to make new memories, the OKC Tree Lighting Festival is the perfect way to feel the energy, community and sparkle that make the holidays here so special.
