Oklahoma City’s holiday spirit is officially here. From twinkling lights to ice skating under the skyline, the city is starting to glow. Here are five great ways to get out, explore and ease into the season this week.
OKC Tree Lighting Festival | Bricktown
Kick off the holiday season at the 24th annual OKC Tree Lighting Festival presented by Global Payments. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at 2 S. Mickey Mantle Drive, enjoy live entertainment, food samples, Santa photos and the big countdown as Mayor Holt lights the Bricktown Christmas Tree at 6 p.m.
Red Earth Tree Fest 2025 | Red Earth Art Center
A holiday tradition returns to downtown OKC. See beautifully decorated Christmas trees adorned with handmade ornaments that celebrate the cultures of Oklahoma’s Native tribes. The exhibit runs now through early January and is free to visit during gallery hours.
Devon Ice Rink Opening | Myriad Botanical Gardens
The rink is back! Lace up your skates and glide beneath the skyline as one of OKC’s favorite winter traditions returns. The Devon Ice Rink opens this week and will stay open through early February.
Holiday River Parade | RIVERSPORT OKC
Kick off the holidays along the Oklahoma River. The annual Holiday River Parade lights up the water with decorated boats, live entertainment and a fireworks finale. Bundle up, grab some cocoa and enjoy the show at RIVERSPORT this Saturday evening.
Safari Lights | Oklahoma City Zoo
Experience the Zoo after dark at Safari Lights, where larger-than-life lanterns and light displays guide you through a glowing wildlife adventure. Drive or walk through the illuminated trails starting this weekend and running through the holiday season.
Whether you’re watching the lights flicker downtown or skating at the Gardens, this week marks the start of something special. The holidays have arrived in OKC—get out there and soak it in.
