Looking for something to do in Oklahoma City this week? From farmers markets to outdoor movies, there are plenty of ways to enjoy food, entertainment and community across the city.
Wednesday Mid-Week Farmers Market
The Mid-Week Farmers Market runs every Wednesday through Sept. 24 at Scissortail Park, 300 SW 7th St. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Free parking is available along S. Robinson, S. Harvey and SW 15th St.
The market is located in the Lower Park section south of Interstate 40 near the Skydance Bridge. Visitors can shop local produce and goods, talk with staff at the Farmers Market information tent and learn about nutrition assistance programs including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Assistance Program (SFMNP), and Double Up Oklahoma (DUO).
Moonlight Movies at Myriad
The Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave., is hosting its new Moonlight Movies series on the Devon Lawn. On Sept. 17, the Gardens will show Sweet Home Alabama (PG-13) starting at 6 p.m.
Guests can bring a picnic or buy charcuterie and drinks on site. The event is free and presented by Oklahoma’s Credit Union.
Friday Night Fire Show at OKANA
The OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark, 639 First Americans Blvd., hosts free fire shows every Friday through Oct. 31 at the Lagoon Amphitheater.
Seating opens at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot and enjoy the Boardwalk before the performance.
Wheeler District Farmers Market
The Wheeler District Farmers Market, 1737 Spoke St., is open Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. through Oct. 24. Vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, pantry staples and artisan products.
On the fourth Friday of each month, the market expands into a Night Market with additional vendors and entertainment.
OKC Farmers Market
The OKC Public Farmers Market, 311 S. Klein Ave., is open year-round on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The indoor market features farmers, artisans and small businesses offering produce, baked goods, vintage items and handmade products.
The historic venue has become a gathering place for residents and visitors to shop and support local businesses.
