Cooler weather and shorter days mark the start of fall in Oklahoma City, and with it comes a season filled with pumpkins, hayrides and Halloween thrills. This weekend, two popular traditions—Orr Family Farm’s Fall Festival and Frontier City’s Fright Fest—open their gates for weeks of family fun and seasonal scares.
Fall Festival at Orr Family Farm
The Orr Family Farm Fall Festival, located at 14400 S. Wester Ave., runs on select dates from Sept. 20 through Nov. 8. Hours vary by day, and the farm is closed on Tuesdays.
The festival features a pumpkin patch, hayrides, farm animals, carnival rides and plenty of fall treats. Visitors can also explore a seasonal maze, take photos at festive backdrops and try specialty shakes.
Tickets are available at orrfamilyfarm.com/pricing. For those who want to extend the experience, Orr Family Farm also offers unique glamping options in teepees and Conestoga wagons, with special after-hours access to select attractions.
Frontier City Fright Fest
Frontier City, located at 11501 N. I-35 Service Road, will host its annual Fright Fest on weekends from Sept. 20 through Nov. 1. The event is included with park admission or a season pass.
During the day, families can enjoy rides, treats and Kids Boo Fest with trick-or-treating and character photo opportunities.
After dark, haunted houses, scare zones and live shows take over the park. Haunted houses require an additional fee, but they promise extra thrills for those who dare.
