Oklahoma City is bringing the fun this week with fireworks, concerts, cookouts and plenty of red, white and blue. From outdoor symphonies to theme park thrills, Independence Day celebrations are lighting up the metro — with something for everyone. Here’s where to catch the sparkle in OKC this Fourth of July week:
Red, White & Boom! with OKCPHIL
Thursday, July 3 | 8:30 p.m.
Love’s Travel Stops Stage & Great Lawn at Scissortail Park
Grab a blanket, pack up the lawn chairs and head downtown for one of OKC’s most beloved Fourth of July traditions. Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic will perform a free outdoor concert at Scissortail Park, followed by a fireworks finale lighting up the city skyline.
The event is free and open to the public. Concert programming and parking details will be announced soon.
Frontier City’s Star-Spangled Nights
Friday and Saturday, July 4–5 | 9:30 p.m.
Frontier City Theme Park, 11501 N. I-35 Service Road
Frontier City is adding some extra sparkle to its rides this week with nighttime firework shows on July 4 and 5. Admission includes access to the display, rides and live entertainment all day long. Ride the Wildcat or Diamondback beneath the bursting sky, with patriotic music filling the air.
Select attractions may close early ahead of the fireworks. All shows are weather permitting and subject to change.
Hillwilly’s Hillbilly Cookout
Friday, July 4 | 10:30 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Hillwilly’s, 401 NW 10th St.
Midtown turns into a front-porch party for the Fourth as Hillwilly’s throws its all-day Hillbilly Cookout. Expect live music, ice-cold drinks and free hot dogs hot off the grill (while supplies last, of course). With Southern tunes, block-party vibes and red, white and blue on full display, this celebration brings the joy of a small-town Fourth to the heart of the city. OKANA’s Star-Spangled Bash
Friday, July 4 | 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark, 639 First Americans Blvd.
Admission: $69.99
OKANA is going big for the holiday with an all-day celebration packed with performers, games and a grand fireworks show to close the night.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., immersive performers will roam the area, including a stilt walker, giant fan dancers, a waterproof face painter, a caricature artist and a DJ spinning summer beats to keep the energy up throughout the day.
Starting at noon, guests can take part in classic Americana games like tug of war, sack races, cornhole and pop-up rounds of American trivia. At 2 p.m., the hot dog eating contest begins—bring your appetite. The day wraps up at 9 p.m. with a fireworks finale lighting up the OKANA skies.
Whether you’re looking for music, rides, backyard energy or waterpark fun, OKC has the Fourth covered. Stay safe, soak it all in and let freedom ring!
