Lace up your shoes, pin your bib and start your watch.
This annual event honors the lives of those who were lost on April 19, 1995, and allows the Oklahoma City Community and beyond to run for them. Celebrating a major milestone this year, with 25 years of the Memorial Marathon, this year is setting up to be better than ever.
The OKC Memorial Marathon, which was voted a “must-run marathon” by Runner’s World, gives Oklahomans and visitors a chance to see the city and how we overcame the devastation of the events of April 19, 1995. Runners will pass by the Oklahoma State Capitol building, northeast OKC, neighborhoods and 168 banners that give runners a reason to run.
Runners from all over the country will run, walk and compete in the weekend festivities. On Saturday, April 26, the 5 K, Kids Marathon and Senior Marathon will take place. On Sunday, April 27, the quarter, half and full marathons will take place.
The Health and Fitness expo begins on Friday and runs through Saturday. The expo is all things runners and athletes. There you can find packet pickup, vendors, listen to and watch a live recording of the Run to Remember Podcast and get excited to race!
The Health and Fitness Expo will also feature some of running’s most influential and best athletes, including Joan Benoit Samuelson, 1984 Olympic Marathon Gold medalist, Meb Keflezighi, Olympian and author, and Deena Kastor, Olympic bronze medalist and record holder. Many more athletes and special guests will be featured. Watch these athletes speak and share insightful information on running, how they got their start and have a poster or book signed.
