Election season is upon us, which means NOW is the time to make a plan to vote. Here are a few ways that you can get ready to make your voice heard on these important local, state and national elections:
- Take 60 seconds to confirm your registration using the Oklahoma State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal, especially if you have recently moved, changed your name, or haven’t voted in a while.
- If you AREN’T registered or need to update your information, complete your voter registration form here. Make sure to print, sign, and mail the application to your County Election Board to complete the process. (Pro tip: Do you have a child who just turned 18? Make sure they have also registered to vote in this important election.)
- Once you register, make a plan to vote either in person or by mail. You can request your absentee ballot to be mailed to your house.
- Research what will appear on the ballot in your county so you can cast an informed vote. As we get closer to the election visit the website of your county's election board. You can also view a sample ballot using the OK Voter Portal.
- If you want to better understand the election process and support the power of democracy, consider volunteering as a poll worker. Polling locations on Election Day are staffed by volunteers who are registered to vote in the county in which they will serve. Contact your County Election Board for more information on how to apply.
