Oklahoma City is a place of diverse cultures and one event that beautifully showcases this diversity is the Fiestas de las Américas (FDLA). The largest Latino festival in the metro area is a vibrant celebration that brings together people from all walks of life. This day-long celebration is happening Sept. 30 beginning at 11 a.m.
A unifying mission
At the heart of Fiestas de las Américas lies a mission of unity and celebration. The festival aims to bring together various Hispanic communities from across the Greater Oklahoma City area. Its primary goal is to preserve, promote and celebrate the rich multiculturalism that is deeply woven into the economic, educational and social fabric of our city.
Beyond the festivities, FDLA serves as a platform to support the Calle Dos Cinco non-profit organization, which focuses on the economic, educational and cultural development within the Historic Capitol Hill District.
