Gamers, rejoice! Sept. 12 is National Video Games Day. So, power up the Xbox, resurrect your Nintendo or dust off that Atari and play away. And don’t be shy – this holiday isn’t just for kids. Video games have surged in popularity over the last two decades, offering thrilling adventures and fun for all ages.
Not to be mistaken with Video Game Day (July 8th), National Video Games Day promotes the passion and integrity of the video game industry. It is a day to partake in what you love, and also, transport you to a time of excitement and nostalgia.
Today, the modes of gaming are infinite and determined by personal preference. Video games of all types are available through mobile phones, while classics and high-definition releases are specifically offered for console and PC platforms.
Video game purists tend to stick to the fundamental notion of playing at an arcade. In Oklahoma City, we have several arcade establishments that will have the video games you are looking for. Be sure to check operating hours and age requirements at the venues below.

The video game industry is vast with a selection library larger than life. Phones, keyboards, gamepads and joysticks are meant to be used. Words of advice: Turn on your device, select your video game and have some fun!
