American Farmer (August 25 – October 18, 2023)
Driven by a desire to capture the essence of rural America and the quiet heroes who call it home, photographer Paul Mobley embarked on a cross-country journey of discovery. From the icy landscapes of Alaska to the sun-soaked fields of Florida, he sought to capture the elusive spirit of the independent farmer. Each portrait tells a unique story of resilience, strength and an unbreakable connection to the land that sustains them.
Black Cowboys (September 22, 2023 – January 2, 2024)
“Black Cowboys: An American Story” will illustrate the talent and skills of Black Americans in the American West. Get a glimpse of the work and contribution from Black cowboys and their families through photographs, artifacts, and trails of travel during the pre-Civil War period.
WIDEWEST (Now through October 15, 2023)
“WIDEWEST” is an impressive exhibit that features a collection of preserved photographs of signature western outings, moments and events. As “wide” in the exhibit title suggests, these panoramic works of art tells the history of the West from various lenses in a full-fledged, journalistic form by the Dickinson Research Center.
Open for Business (Now through February 28, 2024)
Ever wonder what it takes to be an artist? “Open for Business” will take you on a journey of aspiring artists as they carve their way into an industry full of sacrifice and challenges. Commissioned by the A. Keith Brodkin Contemporary Western Artists Project, “Open for Business” details the life of an artist in their pursuit of an enriching and inspiring career.
