Football season in Oklahoma is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean baseball is taking a backseat during the rest of the summer.
The Oklahoma City Dodgers, the Triple-A Affiliate of the storied Los Angeles Dodgers franchise, is approaching the homestretch of their 2023 season and may very well be on a collision course for the club’s first Triple-A National Championship, which will be played Sep. 30 in Las Vegas. But first, the Dodgers need to finish strong before the playoffs begin Sept. 26.
The Dodgers found themselves atop the Pacific Coast League standings for the first half of the season, which has essentially secured them a spot in the post-season playoffs. The second half started June 28, and there are now just 13 home games remaining on the schedule. That means you have about two months to catch some of the live action at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
If you are a Dodgers fan and have already attended several games this season, then you already know what it’s like to experience the excitement and some of the in-game promotions. For those of you who have yet to step foot in the ballpark this season, now is the time! The Dodgers will play three different teams for the remainder of their home schedule, beginning with a three-game series against the Round Rock Express Aug. 1, 4 and 6. They will then play the Albuquerque Isotopes (Aug. 22, 25-27), Round Rock Express (Aug. 29, Sept. 1 & 3) and Tacoma Rainiers (Sept 12, 13 & 15).
Several game-day promotions are on tap throughout the remainder of the 2023 season:
- As part of $2 Tuesdays, fans can purchase select draft beers, soft drinks and bottled water for just $2.
- Following each Friday night game, fans will be treated to a free firework show courtesy of the Dodgers.
- After each Sunday game, kids will get an opportunity to show off their speed and agility by running the bases just like their favorite pros.
One special promotional highlight left on the 2023 schedule is Tyler’s Amazing Balancing Act on Aug. 26. In this high-energy performance, Tyler Scheuer will balance a sundry of objects on his face – large and small – including things like ladders, wheelbarrows, bikes, chairs and other items, while also interacting with fans.
