Before Fortnight, Roblox and Minecraft there was Pac-Man, Twister and Battleship. Those classic games from your childhood are making a cool comeback at Science Museum Oklahoma’s adults-only event SMO21: Game on! You can bounce around with life-size Hungry Hungry Hippos, strategize your way to victory with Dungeons and Dragons or let your competitive spirit shine during a game of croquet or human foosball.
“Games were such a huge part of my life when I was younger!” said Science Museum Oklahoma Educator Sarah Shafer. “Being a gamer doesn’t always look the same from person to person and we are super excited to offer activities that appeal to gamers of all types! From giant ravenous pachyderms to RPG character design, we have something for everyone.”
The museum is fully accessible during SMO21 events, giving you a chance to finally see the exhibits and galleries your kids pass by. The event also features great music, a cash bar with wine, beer and cocktails, and delicious snacks from Pavlov’s Café. Dressing for the theme is encouraged and don’t forget to look for the Secret Room!
The throwback fun is happening 7 to 10 p.m. June 16. General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event. This event is expected to sell out, so purchasing tickets in advance is encouraged.
