Oklahoma City’s 70-acre Scissortail Park is set to host another month of exciting events, with different activities planned each week.
Each Thursday of the month, the Scissortail Park Walking Club meets at the west side of Union Station at 7:50 a.m. The club plans a 30-minute walk for every gathering, allowing residents to wake up to some of the city’s most attractive scenery. Leashed dogs are welcome.
An outdoor preparedness class will be held on March 13 beginning at noon at the Survivor Tree Lawn on the park’s north side. The park ranger-led class will teach attendees how to properly pack an adventure bag, set up a tent and prepare for emergencies that may arise. All ages are permitted; however, the class is ideal for kids 8 and older.
Park rangers will host Campfire Convos the following week, on March 22, at the Nature Play Area in the Lower Park.
You can find a detailed list of Scissortail Park activities at www.scissortailpark.org, or plan a visit on your own any day of the week.
