First performed in Russia in 1892, The Nutcracker has become a beloved Christmas tradition for decades and one your family can enjoy once again with the Oklahoma City Ballet at the OKC Civic Center Music Hall. With Tchaikovsky’s familiar score, the ballet will feature all new choreography by artistic director Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye and include students from the OKC Ballet Yvonne Chouteau School as well as live music from Canterbury Voices and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.
Performances will begin Dec. 10 and run through Dec. 18. For the first time ever, there will be a sensory-friendly performance on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. for anyone with sensory sensitivities or those who would prefer a more relaxed environment. This performance will also be offered at a discounted price.
For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Civic Center’s website.
