For runners and non-runners alike, turkey trots in OKC are approaching faster than the cool, fall temperatures. According to purists, the Thanksgiving race is the perfect time for running. To help plan for the annual ritual, the Chamber has a list of organized trots around the city that will get you excited to lay out your warmups and lace up those favorite running shoes.
Turkey trots began in 1896 – sparking a celebratory tradition that has grown in popularity across the world. The mission of a turkey trot is clear: becoming one with the community to give thanks. Charitable organizations view turkey trots as a springboard event to get people to continue the goodwill spirit in donating their time, support, and generosity. The benefit of participating is apparent, but the impact you will make in attendance is even greater.
Check out the turkey trots near you and register today. Happy trotting and Happy Thanksgiving!
