There are lots of great opportunities just outside Oklahoma City you can visit with a one-day road trip that will bring you unexpected adventures. Check out attractions in these three cities that are just a short ride away!
Stillwater
Just an hour away, Stillwater is home to Oklahoma State University and has fun for the whole family. Below are just a few of the attractions you can visit in Stillwater.
- Lost Creek Safari – The USDA-certified animal park offers guests a unique chance of an up-close and personal experience with some of the most exotic animals in the world.
- National Wrestling Hall of Fame – The country’s hall of fame and museum for amateur wrestling, visitors can learn about the sport’s heritage and achievements.
- Hoffman Pecan Farm – This family-owned farm is a great activity for the family. Growing and selling pecans for more than 50 years, you can stop by without an appointment between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday beginning Nov. 1 until March 1.
Kingfisher
Only 50 miles away from Oklahoma City, Kingfisher is a great city to spend the day exploring.
- Chisholm Trail Museum & Horizon Hill – Learn the history of the historic cattle trail and experience their pioneer village. Admission also includes a tour of Horizon Hill, the home of Oklahoma’s third territorial governor.
- Medic Pharmacy & Gifts – An old-fashioned soda fountain, you have to stop by and get their signature orangeade drink.
Drumright
Established as an oil boom town, Drumright is now home to one of Oklahoma’s 40 wineries.
- Tidewater Winery – This winery’s facility was originally built in 1920 as a school but now hosts wine tastings, weddings and other events. You can stop by for a wine tasting and get a tour of their beautiful space.
