Established in 1929 by 99 women, The 99s is an international organization of women pilots who formed to promote the “advancement of aviation through education, scholarships and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight.” The headquarters moved to Oklahoma City from New York City in 1955, and the museum was initiated in 1972 within the headquarters. But as the collections grew, there was a need for a separate museum, and in 1999, The 99s Museum of Women Pilots opened.
With 5,000 square feet of space, the museum preserves the history of women in aviation while providing education to the next generation. The museum offers a great opportunity to learn about women’s earliest flights to the contributions they’re making in aviation and aeronautics today.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for college students and free for children five and under. Click the link to learn more about the museum’s hours, ticket prices and collections, and plan your visit today!
