If you are a fan of the American West, then Stockyards City is calling your name. The district serves as a go-to destination for all things Western with stores, restaurants and businesses, all playing into the overall Western theme of the area.
Langston’s Western Wear, Little Joe’s Boots and Shorty’s Caboy Hattery all offer unique Western apparel.
McClintock Saloon & Chop House provides patrons with a genuine saloon experience and up to 170 variations of whiskey to coincide with the fine dining menu.
Cattlemen’s Steakhouse is regarded as the city’s longest, continually run restaurants. Visitors light up when they see the restaurant’s old sign out front; a sign seen by Presidents, movie stars, athletes and everything in between throughout the years.
If you still have some energy stored away after scarfing down Cattlemen’s coconut cream pie, you can visit the Rodeo Opry. Referred to as “Oklahoma’s Official Country Music Show” by former Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, the intimate environment of the Opry allows visitors to take in country and gospel shows every Saturday night.
One of the district’s premier claims to fame is the Oklahoma National Stockyards, known as the world’s largest stocker and feeder cattle market. First developed in the early 1900s, the Stockyards have sustained much of the district’s original ambience, solidifying itself as an ideal place for anyone looking to indulge in anything Western.
