As spring takes hold of Oklahoma City, traversing our great city by bicycle becomes even more appealing. Whether you are a biking enthusiast or haven’t touched a bike since popping some rad wheelies after school, RideOKC is a business you should know about.
RideOKC gives great tours of Oklahoma City via bike and rents out bicycles if you want to explore on your own. How did RideOKC come about? A couple loved going on guided bike tours while on vacation and realized it was something OKC needed. Ryan and Ashley’s stated goal for RideOKC is to “bring visitors and the local community together to explore a city that we love in the most fun way possible, by riding bikes. We hope to show you some unexpected hidden gems along the way and maybe even enjoy a pint together at one of our award-winning breweries.”
If you are interested in going on a guided tour, RideOKC offers an Art + Architecture tour, Bikes + Brew Tour and a Cookie tour. They can also customize a tour for a group or do teambuilding exercises. Be sure to follow RideOKC on all the major socials because they offer specialty tours throughout the year.
If you want to explore OKC on your own, RideOKC offers a variety of bicycles for the whole family to rent (including kid’s trailers). You can rent bikes for as little as three hours or up to a week.Another option for getting around Oklahoma City on two wheels is Spokies, Oklahoma City’s only bike share program. Spokies was started in 2014 and is run by the City of Oklahoma City. There are currently eight stations in OKC.
Oklahoma City has more than 80 miles of multi-use trails that all connect so check out the trail map to explore Oklahoma City like never before.
