The Oklahoma City streetcar is a great way to travel downtown comfortably. If you need to go to a meeting, want to catch lunch in Midtown or just want to see the sites of downtown Oklahoma City the streetcar is cheap, stress fee and easy to use. Like anything in life, if you haven’t tried it before, you may be intimidated to start. But fear not, enjoying the streetcar is easy once you know the basics. There are two routes, and you generally don’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for a car (you can check estimated arrival times and see where the actual cars are by downloading the streetcar app).
When do the streetcars operate?
The Oklahoma City Streetcar operates year-round from 6 a.m.-midnight on Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.-2 a.m. on Fridays, 7 a.m.-2 a.m. on Saturdays, and 7 a.m.-10 p.m.on Sundays. The only exceptions happen on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve when the hours are 6 a.m.-midnight, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and 6 a.m.-2 a.m., respectively.
How much does it cost to ride?
At an affordable price, anyone can take a ride around the city! Rides cost $1 for a single ride of up to one hour, $3 for a 24-hour day pass, $32 for a 30-day pass, or $384 for an annual pass. Anyone ages 65+, children ages 7-17, or persons with a qualifying disability are eligible for reduced fare at half-price of standard fares. Children ages 6 and younger ride free.
How do I pay?
Streetcar fares can be purchased on a mobile phone or at the ticket vending machine located at each platform. At the vending machines, cash, coins and cards are all accepted. It’s important to carry exact change if you’re planning on making a coin or cash purchase because no change is issued by the machines.
Where is a good place to park downtown if I want to ride the Streetcar?
