When the Innovation District was first formed one of the emphases was on creating events that helped connect people across the region and industries. If you are new to our city (or a long-time resident) getting involved with the district through these events is a great way to network and get to know Oklahoma City better. Below is a sampling of upcoming events to keep an eye on. You can find a full list of Innovation District events here.
- Workshop Series on Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to noon- Join the Innovation District as they partner with INTENT Programs at the Tom Love Innovation Hub to bring you workshops that help you along your entrepreneurial journey. The first in this series will feature Andrew Engelbrecht of Facing West Enterprises and former Talent Development Manager for Whataburger. Engelbrecht will be discussing team building for entrepreneurs whether you have an existing team that you want to improve relations with or you are looking to start hiring.
- Innovation District Cocktails & Collaboration on March 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.- These happy hours occur every second Tuesday of each month. The location rotates between different bars and restaurants in the Innovation District. The event is great for networking and highlighting community organizations, and it has become one of the most well-attended, consistent happy hours in the city. The first 50 in attendance receive their first drink for free and light appetizers are provided.
- Innovation District Symposium Series Session 1: Innovations in Radar Technology on March 11- Hear from industry experts in weather, defense/national security and biomedical applications on ‘Innovations in Radar Technology’. Tickets are $40.
- Innovation District Walk Over Wednesdays on March 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.- This monthly event occurs every third and features a community food truck event near Stiles Park Circle. The first 100 in attendance receive an item from the featured food truck for free and will have the chance to network with community members and organizations.
