One of the great things about living in Oklahoma City during the holidays around Thanksgiving and Christmas are the wide array of holiday-themed activities and events happening throughout the metro. One such event is the annual Holiday Pop-Up Shops.
Local retailers will once again be “popping up” in Midtown near downtown Oklahoma City as part of this fun, shopping event beginning Nov. 26 through Dec. 19.
Nearly two dozen shops will display their products each week in iconic geodesic domes on the corner of NW 10th and Hudson in the Midtown District, much as they have done since 2013 when the Independent Shopkeepers Association first created this family-friendly – and dog-friendly – event. The event was held as an all-outdoor market in 2020 with open-air tents due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Holiday Pop-Up Shops affords customers the opportunity to shop in a more relaxing and stress-free environment, while also supporting their local businesses. Shoppers will discover a variety of gifts from clothing and accessories to home goods and children’s toys. Holiday treats like hot chocolate will be available to enjoy, along with live music and visits from Santa Claus. And if you still do not have your Christmas Tree purchased, a tree lot is even on site for your convenience.
The Independent Shopkeepers Association puts on the annual Holiday Pop-Up Shops event to promote shopping local and encouraging visitors to purchase holiday gifts from local shops. The event will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
