One thing that surprises some when they first move to Oklahoma City is the thriving Oklahoma City Philharmonic (OKCPhil for short). Under the direction of Alexander Mickelthwate, the orchestra performs everything from the classics, pop and family concerts. Check out some upcoming shows because there is bound to be something for every kind of music lover.
- The Music of Billy Joel with Michael Cavanaugh; Nov. 5-6: Handpicked by Billy Joel for Broadway’s “Movin’ out”, Cavanaugh’s smooth and skillful style will inspire you. This is his second time performing with the OKCPHIL and it’s said he rivals the Piano Man (Billy Joel) himself!
- Francaise & Ruski; Nov. 20: The third classics creates a creative balance between the influences of two countries: Russia and France, always connected through art and ballet.
- The Christmas Show; Dec. 3-4: A Broadway-style production complete with singers, dancers, beautiful costumes, lighting, and a spectacular Broadway Star plus a special visit from Santa is an exciting way to kick off a wonderful Holiday season.
You can check out the full list of performances here. And be sure you do because there are a bunch of can’t miss concerts scheduled for 2022 already!
