If you are a lover or collector of Western art, or are thinking about starting your own Western art collection, you might want to consider attending the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s annual art exhibition that is currently in full swing.
The 49th Annual Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale, featuring more than 300 paintings and sculptures from some of the most talented and skilled artists and craftsmen today, will be on exhibit through August 8, with Art Sale Weekend scheduled June 26-27. Nearly 100 artists have been invited to this exhibition and sale, which has been called the most anticipated event in the Western art world.
“We are excited to continue building on the successes of last year to provide an even more rewarding experience for our guests,” Museum President & CEO Natalie Shirley said in an earlier museum press release promoting Prix de West.
Throughout Art Sale Weekend, guests will have opportunities to attend various events, including continental breakfasts, seminars and seminar luncheons, book signings, receptions, an awards ceremony, a live auction and trunk shows at The Museum Store.
The museum will welcome renowned artist Ed Mell as well as guest artists Thomas Blackshear II, Huihan Liu and Roseta Santiago.
During the live auction on June 27 as part of the closing festivities, guests will get to bid on artwork from many of Prix de West’s favorite artists such as Tom Browning, Glenn Dean, John Moyers and others.
