The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber offers events for individuals who come from a variety of sectors and levels of experience. Throughout June, we’re looking forward to offering several events to support business and opportunity for our community. This month, along with some of our regular events, we are kicking off the first virtual InternOKC series.
Enlighten | The Future is Coming: Will You Be Ready? – June 4th
The Chamber’s Enlighten event is offered monthly and is always free. For anyone who wants to boost their business performance, Enlighten events provide networking and practical resources to make it happen.
The June Enlighten will feature Metro Technology Center’s Metro B-Brief program, a monthly review of books for business leaders. The discussion will draw from several books dealing with future technological trends and the post-COVID-19 world we are entering, including the warnings and lessons of the books "The Black Swan" and "Antifragile" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb and "Upstream: The Quest to Solve Problems before They Happen" by Dan Heath.
The event will be hosted over Zoom from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Chamber Forum | Becoming a second-chance employer – June 16th
Every month, we host a forum to bring you the biggest updates when it comes to initiatives, successes, challenges, and opportunities for business in OKC. This month’s forum will provide concrete guidance for how to become a second-chance employer, how to navigate any potential challenges during the hiring process, and the benefits to businesses and the larger community.
The event will run from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m., and there will be a session for small group networking, followed by the full program.
InternOKC – June 16th and June 23rd
Our InternOKC program was created in 2006 to support the recruitment of young professionals in Oklahoma City. It provides soft skills enhancement and professional development opportunities for participants.
The first two sessions will focus on how personal behavior, habits and practices can impact career development.
Employers interested in enrolling their interns for this summer’s InternOKC program can do so by visiting abetterlifeokc.com/summerintern.
