With the weather turning warm and spring on its way, Oklahoma City area running and cycling groups are in full swing with a variety of training events for all levels.
Chamber member Red Coyote is offering in-person and virtual options for the free Summer 2021 Newbie Program April 26 – June 26. Those runs are on Mondays and Saturdays in OKC, and Wednesdays in Edmond. 10k and marathon training programs are also available. Check out their website for more info.
The Oklahoma City Landrunners are holding free weekly runs (also open to walkers!) on Saturdays meeting at the Love’s Stage at Scissortail Park. Routes of 3, 4 and 6 miles are available, and runs begin between 7:15-7:45 a.m. in groups of no larger than 10. The Landrunners’ free training program for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon begins on June 12. The training runs are held weekly and will go through Oct. 3.
If cycling is more your speed, The Bike Lab OKC hosts group rides on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Routes and mileage vary on each ride.
