Did you know December 10th is Dewey Decimal System Day? Invented in 1851 by Melvil Dewey, the system is the most widely used library classification in the world. So you can thank Melvil for helping you easily find what you’re looking for when hitting up your local library.
While you may not be able to swing by and browse the shelves right now, the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Library System has plenty of ways for you to experience and enjoy the library from home.
Add to your day by taking an online yoga class, painting or creating a grab-and-go craft. For the kiddos, there’s an online coding club, book clubs and virtual preschool story time. And holiday activities are abundant— creating wrapping paper, making ornaments or a building a holiday shadow box are just a few of the many holiday themed offerings.
In addition to the events, curbside pickup services will still be available along with limited socially distanced computer use and copy, scan and fax services.
