Whether you want to see more lights, do some local shopping, or ice skate, Downtown Oklahoma City is the place to be this holiday season. The Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership works with attractions and organizations around the area to coordinate all the holiday fun into one website, downtownindecember.com, which makes it easy to find everything.
The largest lights display in downtown is along Automobile Alley. The historic buildings are draped in a variety of light colors, making the strip a lot of fun to drive at night. The district’s annual holiday lights celebration, Lights on Broadway, is being held over four weekends to keep the area less crowded. Each Saturday from 4-8pm, various retail shops and restaurants will feature window displays in addition to family-friendly activities, special promotions, and giveaways.
If you’re looking for the big man himself, Myriad Gardens is the place to be. It’s also home to the Devon Ice Rink, which opened Nov. 13 and will stay open through Jan. 31. Socially-distanced Santa photos are available on Dec. 5 and 18 at Meinders Garden Terrace in the gardens. Be sure to take one more trip through the warm and luscious Crystal Bridge Conservatory before it closes this spring for a major renovation.
The Partnership crew is continuing to add events at the districts around downtown, so be sure to check the website frequently to see what’s new.
