We have a special mission for you if you choose to accept it. Actually, it’s not that special because we’re hoping you’ll invite your friends.
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art needs you to go around town on Saturday and drink beer at certain breweries during Art On Tap so you can help the museum raise money. Yes, it’s an incredibly difficult task, but we know you can complete this mission responsibly.
It’s a critical mission because like many museums, OKCMOA had to modify its three annual fundraisers because of the pandemic. Those three events – ARTonTAP, Omelette Party and Renaissance Ball – account for 10% of the museum’s operating budget. In addition, more anticipated income was missed with the museum having to close in April and May, so money is needed more than ever. (Got a few extra dollars in that bank account? Make a donation now.)
The more beer you drink, the more you’re helping this community institution and visitor destination. To support the cause, buy a glass at Lively Beerworks, from Saturday to Nov. 1. Proceeds from the glassware sales will go to OKCMOA. Other breweries that are helping out on Saturday are Anthem – selling a limited edition beer – Vanessa House and Twisted Spike. Stonecloud is offering two days of fundraising, so if you can’t make it Saturday, you can still go for #SundayFunday. If you want more than one glass from this mobile event, Frenzy Brewing in downtown Edmond has you covered. On Oct. 29, the brewery is donating 10% of all taproom sales to the museum. While it won’t be the same shindig it’s always been, there’s still great beer to drink. If you can’t make it or still uncomfortable being around people, visit the Museum store online to help the cause at okcmoastore.com.
