Pandemic, schmandemic – Chamber events are still in effect, albeit with a few changes to keep you safe (no, we haven’t figured out how to email you lunch just yet).
But for new residents or those wanting to get more connected with the community, virtual Chamber events are a great way to learn about what’s going on, educate yourself on community issues and make new business connections and friends. (So yes, there’s still a networking component – hats off to our events people – and hey, it may be even easier for the shy among us to make new connections virtually!) So dust off those webcams, throw on your best camera-ready wig and get ready to be informed and connected.
Some things you should consider checking out from the comfort of your favorite screen:
Friday, August 7 – Enlighten – Learn how the different back-to-school plans will affect you and your kids directly from a panel of area superintendents.
Tuesday, August 11 – Member Orientation – For new and old members wanting to get more involved in the business of making OKC great, or for prospective members, Member Orientation gets you info on Chamber initiatives while meeting other people.
Wednesday, August 12 – State of the Schools – One of the Chamber’s premier yearly events, this year’s State of the Schools will feature educational technology expert and former Google education evangelist Jaime Casap, along with an all-star K-12 and Higher Education panels which will include superintendents and college presidents, respectively. Don’t miss it!
Wednesday, August 19 – Chamber Forum – The Chamber’s monthly Forum series is back, and this edition will focus on the coronavirus pandemic, how it has affected OKC’s restaurants, food suppliers and retail stores (spoiler alert: it hasn’t been good) as well as what we can to do help them survive.
BONUS EVENT: Thursday, October 29 – Elevate – Oklahoma City’s professional development conference promises a full day of learning and networking, including keynotes and your choice of breakout sessions. Visit www.okcelevate.com for all conference information including schedule, speakers, sponsorship opportunities and to buy tickets.
