Maybe the outdoorsy-type activity above sounds intriguing, but you’re not quite ready to go full-on woodsman. Maybe you’d rather fish for compliments on your marksmanship than fish for fish. Or maybe you like the shooting part of the hunting but not so much the cleaning and the gutting.
Consider gun ranges! There are plenty of opportunities and locations throughout the metro to get in your gunpowder fix. How about shooting sporting clays or trap? A place like Silverleaf Shotgun Sports in Guthrie is a great choice for an experience you’ll not soon forget. Silverleaf offers a golf-course-like activity, so the various terrains and tree coverage creates challenging shots. There are other indoor/outdoor shooting facilities in the metro like H&H, Wilshire Gun and more. These locations are all making social distancing accommodations and should be safe provided you take care of the obvious (hand washing, sanitizing, and if you haven’t heard, the face-touching era is OVER). Into firing projectiles but not so fond of the typical loud booms and/or recoil action? Check out an archery club like the facility at Crystal Lake in OKC (currently COVID-ed out but stay tuned) or Arrowhead Archery. Because target practice while social distancing is always a bullseye. OK, admittedly that’s a very poor slogan, but you get the idea.
