New this spring: OKC Zoo Keys are back! Sponsored by Oklahoma’s Own News 9, OKC Zoo Keys, is an all-new reimagining of a vintage Zoo activity that began in the 1960s here at the OKC Zoo. With one souvenir, key, visitors of all ages can unlock recorded messages in English and Spanish from 20 displays throughout the Zoo. This retro attraction features information about the Zoo’s signature species and conservation efforts as spoken by some of News 9’s most popular newscasters. Cost is $3 per key.
See the Zoo like never before with the Binocular Borrow program presented by Dean McGee Eye Institute. Guests have the opportunity to borrow a pair of binoculars during their visit at no cost. To participate, bring a valid photo ID to the Zoo’s Guest Experience office in the entry plaza and complete a quick information form. One valid photo ID is required for each pair of binoculars.
For sensory-sensitive families, the Zoo worked with Kulture City to designate “Quiet Zones” and "Calm Zones" throughout the park. These areas typically have less activity and spaces to sit and regroup after becoming overstimulated. The Zoo also offers sensory bags with noise-canceling headphones, weighted lap pads, fidget toys and more. Sensory bags are available for guests to checkout at no cost on a daily basis from the Zoo’s Guest Experience office in the entry plaza.
