Olympic Gold medalists and husband-and-wife Bart Conner and Nadia Comaneci have called Oklahoma home for decades and continue to give back to the area by encouraging children to be more active.
On Feb. 22, families are invited to come learn and tryout several sports at their annual Bart & Nadia Sports Experience, held at the Cox Convention Center. The free event lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
When we say you can try out all the sports, we’re not kidding. There will be activities provided by many of our friends, including the Oklahoma City Dodgers, RIVERSPORT, USA Softball, OKC Energy FC and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma will have activities as well. You can try your hand at cricket and learn more about tennis, judo, hockey, skating and BMX biking.
Kids who try everything can even take home a gold medal. (Sorry, there’s no gold medal for adults who try it all.)
If you're around on Friday, Feb. 21, come watch some talented gymnasts. For $15, you can watch the OU women’s gymnastics team take on the Stanford women. The event starts at 6:45 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.
