Oklahoma City truly is a great place to be a basketball fan. Not only do you have access to the Thunder, but you can also watch the Oklahoma City Blue.
The team is part of the NBA’s G League, which is the official minor league for the main teams. This season, the G League features 28 teams, with the nearest competitor being in Dallas, home of the Texas Legends. The New Orleans Pelicans will debut an expansion team this year in Erie, Pennsylvania, but the team will likely be relocated to Birmingham, Alabama for the 2022-2023 season.
The Oklahoma City Blue started in Asheville, North Carolina and won back-to-back championships in 2004 and 2005. The team moved to Oklahoma in 2005, becoming the Tulsa 66ers. In 2014, Oklahoma City became the team’s home and the name was changed.
The team plays at the Cox Convention Center, with ticket prices ranging from $10 to $40. The team offers autograph times after the final buzzer of each game, outside section 319.
The season opens Saturday, Nov. 9 and the first home game is Nov. 16. If you can’t make that game, there are 23 other home games this season. You can view the full schedule on the team’s website.
