It’s the time of year when you’re looking for the best places to get pumpkins and there are plenty of spots around the metro. But if you want to be immersed in all the best gourds and your Pinterest goals, be sure to check out Pumpkinville at Myriad Gardens.
Every year, dozens of volunteers help turn the Children’s Garden into a celebration of autumn. This year’s theme will bring back all your favorite fall festival memories as you venture around the vintage carnival. There are scarecrows, gourds of every shape and size, games, and plenty of areas for climbing. Pumpkinville opened Oct. 11 and will stay open daily until Oct. 27.
There are more than 16,000 pumpkins at Pumpkinville. Yes, you read that right. On Saturdays and Sunday, there are extra things to see and do, such as the Pumpkinville Express Train, Paint-A-Pumpkin, harvest-themed vendors, and other activities.
The Myriad Gardens crew has created a full schedule of daily events, which is available at oklahomacitybotanicalgardens.com, but some dates you won’t want to miss are painting night with Wine & Palette on Friday Oct. 18 and the Spooky Pooch Parade on Oct. 26. There are stories told every day from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Myriad Gardens members can enjoy Pumpkinville for free while admission is $8 for nonmembers, which includes a ride on Mo’s Carousel. There’s a pumpkin patch on site so you can help give a gourd a new home.
Oh and be sure to keep an eye out on Myriad Gardens’ social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) when the annual pumpkin sale will be announced. Those 16,0000 pumpkins will also need a new home after the event.
