Oklahoma City’s love of the arts and its Western heritage combine in perfect harmony at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s annual Prix de West invitational art exhibit, now on display for its 47th year. The 2019 Prix de West brings together nearly 300 paintings and sculpture by 98 contemporary Western artists, with diverse works ranging from historical to modern depictions of the West.
Norman sculptor Paul Moore was awarded the 2019 Prix de West purchase award for “The Procession,” a bronze bas relief depicting a Pueblo Indian religious procession. The award means that Moore’s work will be purchased and displayed as part of the museum’s permanent collection. This year you can see “The Procession” and all works of art included in the exhibition until Aug. 11. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the best of Western art for yourself!
