From major investments into sidewalks and trails to the Mayor putting our city on a diet, few communities have invested in health like Oklahoma City has the past decade. To learn more about where our community has been and where it is going in regards to health, don’t miss the first-ever State of Health Monday, May 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.
Former Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will bring his expertise on addressing a community’s health. Cornett’s keynote remarks will include an overview of how Oklahoma City’s health outcomes have changed since he challenged residents to lose 1 million pounds in 2011. He will also discuss what he has learned from other communities that are also addressing their biggest health challenges.
In addition to Cornett’s keynote address, the program will include a panel discussion with leaders from the region’s four largest health care organizations. Together on the stage for the first time, Jim Gebhart from Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, Joe Hodges from SSM Health Oklahoma, Timothy Pehrson from INTEGRIS Health and Chuck Spicer from OU Medicine will discuss the landscape of health care in Oklahoma City.
