You don’t have to be an Oklahoma City native long to understand that the annual Festival of the Arts is the unofficial kickoff of spring in the metro. This year’s festival will be held April 24-28 at Bicentennial Park.
First started in 1967, the Festival of the Arts is put on by Arts Council Oklahoma City to celebrate art and community. More than 140 visual artists from around the county will have booths set up to showcase any medium of art you can think of.
The great thing about the festival is that it’s a blast for the whole family as they also emphasize performing and culinary arts. You can listen to great live music on three stages while enjoying some amazing food.
As you can imagine, the festival is a major undertaking and to make it happen the Arts Council relies on volunteers. If you are interested in helping out check out the link to learn more. Trust us, there are much worse ways to spend an April afternoon.
