So you are new to Oklahoma City and you’ve completed the first step of becoming an official Oklahoma Citian by signing up for our blog, but now what? How do you make new friends in your new hometown? Take our advice and join a local civic group. They are a great way to meet people who love their community while making a local impact.
Of course, our No. 1 recommendation would be to join the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. Besides paying the bills at the Better Life headquarters they offer a plethora of exciting networking events like SchmoozaPalooza and Chamber Forums. In fact, there is a Chamber Forum tomorrow on the topic of entrepreneurship in OKC. If you want to test the waters before jumping into a membership know that most Chamber events are open to non-chamber members.
Besides the Chamber, other organizations like Lions Club or a local chapter of the Rotary Club are great ways to meet people and get involved.
