As a kid were you transfixed by the special effects in movies like “Clash of the Titans” and “Jason and the Argonauts?” The stop-motion animation of Ray Harryhausen not only entertained generations of people but inspired countless filmmakers and special effects masters.
A comprehensive collection of Harryhausen’s models, prototypes, sketches and storyboards are on display at Science Museum Oklahoma. Ray Harryhausen’s Mythical Menagerie will run through December 3 and is free with regular museum admission. More than 150 artifacts are on display, including the terrifying Medusa from “Clash of the Titans.” This is the first U.S. exhibition of Harryhausen’s works since his death in 2013.
