Another great way to get to know people is by donating your time to a nonprofit. There is no better place to start than the United Way of Central Oklahoma.
This organization partners with more than 60 organizations that contribute to the area’s health, safety, education or economic well-being of families, according to the United Way’s mission.
The United Way picks its partner organizations according to five identified “Focus Areas”: Strong Families, Successful Kids, Healthy Citizens, Independent Living and Community Preparedness. Each year, the organization raises millions of dollars to help fund these nonprofit agencies’ programs.
If you’re interested in finding ways to volunteer for these organizations, check out the United Way’s Volunteer Center.
The United Way has been serving the community for more than 90 years, and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber is proud that it had a role in its creation decades ago.
