Beautiful sunsets, a 10-mile trail and iconic lighthouse in the middle of the state make Lake Hefner a must see travel destination for visitors and residents alike. Instead of simply driving by this iconic lake again on Lake Hefner Parkway, why not stop by for a fun-filled day?
Hefner Fest is a free event for people of all ages taking place April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Experience all that Lake Hefner has to offer with free sailing experiences, stand up paddle board rentals, kayak rentals, tailgate games and so much more. Hefner Fest will also feature live music, food trucks and a beer garden.
Most people see Lake Hefner as a great place to take a stroll or ride your bike but Lake Hefner also offers all kinds of water sports fun. In fact, plans were just released to enhance the historic Lake Hefner Boathouse to help increase the amount of activity on the lake.
After the event, take a stroll along the 10 mile trail that surrounds the lake or stop by one of the many restaurants along Lake Hefner’s waterfront to enjoy a beautiful sunset that only Lake Hefner can provide. Lake Hefner is more than just that pretty lake next to the highway, so be sure to stop by and experience all that it has to offer.
